The FoNE Session 3 (Aug 31) - HABITS OF A RESPONSIVE EDUCATOR

$50.00

Responsiveness is how take your practice as an educator from a skill to an art. The instructional basics covered in Session 2 provide the technical skills for effective facilitation, but every group, and every learner, is different. In Session 3, you’ll learn to observe, recognize, and adapt in the moment to go from teaching programs to teaching humans. Topics for this session include:

  • Anticipating and preparing for learner and group diversity

  • Recognizing, interpreting, and meeting learners’ social-emotional needs

  • Culturally responsive practices

  • Knowing when and how to adjust to keep the experience positive and valuable for learners

Your instructor will be Jennie Goldstone, EdD, an experiential learning specialist with over 20 years of experience as a non-formal educator, curriculum writer, and program administrator, and over 10 years of experience facilitating learner-centered professional development for non-formal educators from museums, zoos, arts organizations, and other community-based institutions serving K-12 schools.
